Cognex Corp. has expanded its Checker vision sensor product line with the addition of the Checker 252 model.
The 252 model includes all the inspection capabilities of the Checker vision sensor family, plus additional software sensors that verify height, width and diameter and delivers reliable pass/fail results on high-speed production lines.
For simplicity, it offers One-Click setup which uses the screen caliper to define startup parameters. Users are able to graphically move the caliper jaw to the desired edge locations. It also features low-contrast edges that are easily identified and offer flexibility of edge selection.
It is available with the company’s SensorView 350 compact, industrial panel-mount display. The model features modes of operation including, internal and external part triggers, and free running. It operates from 0 to 50 °C, has a maximum operating altitude of 4000 m and a vibration of 10 to 500 Hz per IEC 68-2-6.
It is suitable for automotive applications, including detecting double feeds, verifying component thickness, checking weld thickness and verifying correct hole diameters. Packaging applications include checking safety tabs, inspecting for out of round parts and verifying glue bead thickness.
