Olympus Life Science Europa GmbH has unveiled the CX21LED clinical microscope with built-in LED illumination. Suitable for biological and medical applications, the imaging system can illuminate samples with a light intensity similar to that provided by halogen bulbs. It is designed with robust components, according to the company: The eyepiece and condenser are both attached to the body, while the revolving nosepiece and objectives are fixed to the wide rigid arm. The brightness of the LED can be changed without affecting the color temperature, and the ergonomic layout of the main controls permits quick operation with minimal movement.
