SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 29, 2015 — GigOptix Inc. has announced a clock and data recovery (CDR) chip for optical communications.

The HXC42400 Quad CMOS CDR features programmable receiver and transmitter bandwidth in a single device, optimizing input jitter tolerance and output jitter for superior link performance. To maintain and optimize signal integrity under adverse insertion loss situations, the device includes up to 16 dB of programmable continuous time linear equalization and a one-tap decision feedback equalizer. A three-tap programmable de-emphasis block provides up to 12-dB gain for the pre and post taps.

The CDR complements the company's previously released 28-Gb/s quad-channel vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) driver array and transimpedance receiver array. Together the devices provide a complete chipset solution offering to enable next-generation SR4 (100-m) and extended-reach SR4 (eSR4, 300-m) module and active optical cable applications.
