The Compact-506 galvanometer-based optical scanner from ScannerMax is suitable for use in compact medical devices and laser image projection.

Its strong rotor construction and 6-mm bearings allow the device to move small and large mirrors up to 1 in. in diameter. A coil impedance of 3 Ω allows the scanner to be driven even when power is limited, and, when power is shut off, a magnetic spring return action enables restoration of the mirror to a fail-safe position.

The lightweight body is made from aircraft aluminum, while X-Y pairs can be made from sheet metal.
