NATICK, Mass., May 3, 2012 — Cognex Corp. has released the Cognex Explorer control center, which displays a graphical view of all Cognex vision systems, ID readers and visualization systems connected to the network. It incorporates maintenance tools for backing up, restoring or cloning systems, and performing firmware upgrades.
Control, production and maintenance engineers will find the intuitive point-and-click interface easy to use, without any training required. The control center offers the ability to display the identity, type and status of all Ethernet-connected In-Sight vision systems, DataMan ID readers and VisionView display devices on the network; to view device settings including IP addresses and firmware/software versions; to execute firmware updates; to back up and restore multiple systems simultaneously; to clone systems when adding more to the network; and to add licenses for VisionView.
The system eliminates the complexities of installing and maintaining automation equipment. Once a Cognex product has been deployed, users can monitor and maintain the system with one common utility. It is available now and free of charge to all of the company’s customers. It can be downloaded at www.cognex.com/explorer.
