DBR Lasers for Various ApplicationsPhotodigm DBR laser diodes bring the capability of research lasers to portable and hand-held precision instruments. Our single frequency Application-Certified™ and Spectroscopy-Certified™ DBR lasers are available in various packages at several standard wavelengths between 760nm and 1083nm with power levels up to 400mW. Photodigm monolithic semiconductor DBR lasers deliver research grade performance from a scalable robust microchip. Spectroscopic transitions of rubidium, cesium, potassium, oxygen, water vapor, and metastable helium can be probed as the basis for atomic clocks, navigation systems, magnetometers, meteorological instruments, and chemical analysis. Photodigm DBR laser diodes deliver high output power levels from CW to GHz modulation to picosecond pulsing, and offer application versatility.

Photodigm DBR lasers are now available with internal beam correction and control of thermal mode hops. A virtual point source micro lens corrects astigmatism and reduces fast axis divergence, resulting in a user friendly beam that can be focused or collimated as needed with a single aspherical lens. The Precise-Mode™ device locks to a selected cavity Mode in stable operation without hops over an extended range of current tuning and are available in the Mercury™ and TO-8 package.

Our DBR laser diodes are produced in our own USA wafer fab, giving us a competitive advantage that allows us to optimize critical details of our DBR laser designs, including power-generating ridges, wavelength selective gratings, and power-withstanding facets. Photodigm’s DBR monolithic laser architecture offers long coherence length, tunability, and deterministic wavelength stability over life.
