STOUGHTON, Mass., Feb. 19, 2013 — The LD48 series available now from MicroPower Direct is a line of miniature DC/DC LED drivers designed to power and control high-brightness LEDs. They feature a constant current output up to 1 A, pulse-width-modulation (PWM) and analog dimming, and efficiency to 97%.
Eight models operate from an input voltage range of 7 to 60 VDC and provide constant current outputs of 150, 250, 300, 350, 500, 600, 700 or 1000 mA. Standard features include short-circuit protection and a remote on/off input. LED brightness (dimming) may be controlled by an analog voltage input or digitally by a PWM input, which may also be used as a remote on/off control input.
The mean time between failures, per MIL HDBK 217F, is >950 kWh.
All models are packaged in a compact MiniDIP case with an industry-standard pin-out. Units rated to IP67 are available with wire leads. Each model is specified for operation from −40 to 85 °C ambient, with no derating or heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.
