Dalsa Coreco has launched the Genie-M640 Gigabit Ethernet digital camera for industrial imaging applications. It uses a CCD monochrome sensor with a resolution of 640 × 480, operates at a maximum of 60 fps and transmits data over standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 cables to distances of up to 100 m. Based on the Automated Imaging Association GigE Vision Standard to directly link to a PC, it is supported by proprietary Sapera LT software featuring CamExpert for simplified camera setup and configuration. Features include a global shutter, partial scan, triggered capture, look-up tables, real-time shading correction, and image buffers and sequences for storing captured images and sequences before they are transmitted over the Gigabit Ethernet network.
