OLCHING, Germany, March 13, 2014 — Laser Components has added a smaller chip, the DLSxxxX080, to its “diamondlike source” series pulsable IR emitters.

At 250 mW, its power consumption is less than 1/3 that of the company’s large chip (measured at 10 Hz, 50% duty cycle). It emits at 2 to 13 µm and is suited for handheld devices and miniaturized sensors.
