DPSS 473-nm Microchip Blue Laser
Lee Laser Inc. (See Coherent Inc.)
Laser users have long awaited a compact blue laser that could replace bulky, inefficient, high-maintenance and high-priced gas lasers. Lee Laser's new Model LMC-473-30 Microchip Blue Laser is a self-contained, high-performance DPSS laser source that produces highly stable, 30-mW output power at 473 nm.
It uses patented microchip technology to achieve high mechanical stability of the optical resonator. The rugged and durable design is ideal for applications that require long-term continuous operation without maintenance.
The device exhibits superior TEM00-mode beam quality with M2 <1.1. Long-term power drift of <0.5% within 24-hour periods has been documented over months of continuous operation. Noise level is <0.3% rms.
The compact laser is ideal for such diverse applications as flow cytometry, DNA sequencing, DPE (printing), biomedical diagnostics and RGB color display. Other models are available with 10 and 20 mW of output.
Series LMC microchip lasers are available in several other wavelengths, including 532 and 671 nm.
These instruments represent a new direction for Lee Laser's solid-state laser technology, which in the past has concentrated on highly reliable and durable industrial-grade Nd:YAG lasers for micromachining applications.
