The Samba 05-01 platform, manufactured by Cobolt AB for single-frequency
and ultralow-noise continuous-wave lasers, generates up to 1 W of CW output power
at 532 nm from a compact package. Applications include high-resolution Raman spectroscopy,
interferometry, flow dynamics, high-speed fluorescence analysis and laser pumping
on an industrial level. The diode-pumped solid-state laser delivers a TEM00 beam
with M2 of <1.1. A new proprietary cavity design provides typical noise performance
of <0.1% rms from 20 Hz to 20 MHz, with an operating temperature range from 10
to 40 °C and a narrow spectral linewidth of <1 MHz. The use of the company’s
periodically poled potassium titanyl phosphate frequency conversion technology in
the laser design also provides high power efficiency. The system consumes less than
66 W.
