fDual ILX Lightwave has produced a dual-source module for use with its SSB-9200 high-density source bank that, the company says, accommodates the increasing complexity and demands of WDM component, amplifier and amplifier system testing by offering increased integration and higher production throughput. The FOS-9200520XX enables the use of two laser sources per module, making 25 slots in the mainframe available for other options. One mainframe can accommodate up to 100 laser sources for large-channel-count applications. Multiplexers, a variable optical attenuator and source shutters can be added to create a highly integrated system. The device allows a reduction in rack space of up to 70%.
