JAI Pulnix Inc. has released a dual-tap AccuPixel camera that offers 4.2-million-pixel resolution and has a Camera Link digital interface. The TM-4000CL produces a full-resolution 2048 × 2048 image at 15 fps. With partial scanning, the camera operates at 80 fps, with reduced vertical resolution. The interline transfer CCD captures electronically shuttered images at up to 1/16,000s and can be reset asynchronously. A look-up table provides 10- to 8-bit pre-processing for image enhancement. The camera is compact and offers automatic channel balancing. A noninterpolated color version, the TMC4000CL, is available. Applications include machine vision, intelligent transportation systems, high-definition graphics, character recognition and surveillance.
