Darwin SP data acquisition software from Spectral Evolution is available for their field spectroradiometers and spectrometers to measure density and health of vegetation based on red and near-infrared absorption and reflectance.

The software provides a pull-down menu of 19 vegetation indices to measure vegetation dynamics, plant phenological changes over time, biomass production, soil moisture, changes in rangeland, estimated crop yields, carbon influx or sequestration, plant photosynthesis activity and leaf area index (LAI) measurement.
