FlexibleOptical.jpgA piezoelectric deformable mirror with 109 actuators has been released by Flexible Optical BV. The mirror has a 53-mm clear aperture, weighs ~650 g and measures 100 × 100 × 60 mm. It is driven by three 40-channel high-voltage amplifier units and is controlled from a computer USB port via three 40-channel 12-bit digital-to-analog converter modules. The actuators are positioned in an orthogonal grid with a pitch of 4.3 mm. Supplied with SDK for Windows, the mirror is suitable for fast correction of large high-order aberrations in vision and ophthalmic systems, retinal imaging and microscopy. It can be coated with metal, metal-dielectric and multilayer dielectric coatings for high reflectivity.
