The GXCB-500 cone beam 3-D dental imaging system from Gendex Dental Systems features a field of view that can be extended up to 14 cm in diameter and up to 8 cm in height to provide a jaw or molar-to-molar view, as compared with a full-skull image. This medium-size view is suitable for diagnosis and treatment planning, especially for implants, and for TMJ analysis and small-scale oral surgery procedures. The system has an amorphous silicon flat panel sensor that yields detailed images at a scan rate of 8.9 s and a reconstruction rate of 20 s, allowing improved workflow for dental teams. It offers file sizes less than 20 MB and traditional digital panoramic imaging for capturing 2-D data. It is powered by i-CAT Vision software, which features nerve canal estimation and a picture archiving communications system interface.
