Ambient Light and Flicker Detection SensorThe TCS3410 combined ambient light/RGB color and flicker detection sensor from ams AG features a 2 × 1-mm footprint.

Expanding customer options for use in bezel-less and ultra-narrow bezel smartphones, the sensor’s height of 0.5 mm makes it easy to fit in a water drop notch for the selfie camera or in the ultra-narrow bezel of a smartphone, helping manufacturers realize designs that maximize the screen-to-body ratio and viewable display area.

Smartphones with the TCS3410 can offer smoother and more responsive display-brightness management, even in challenging low-light conditions, with white balancing, image color correction, and the elimination of artifacts induced by high-frequency flickering from artificial light sources.
