SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 7, 2013 — The Diamond E-250 CO2 laser from Coherent Inc. is suitable for a variety of materials processing applications, including converting, cutting, drilling, scribing, engraving and marking.

The fully sealed, pulsed laser offers 250 W of average power and >750 W of peak pulse power, and an output wavelength of 10.6 µm. Its radio frequency (RF) power module is integrated within the same housing as the laser tube, eliminating the RF umbilical cable.

The instrument is suitable for use with a variety of materials, including paper, cardboard, acrylic, plastic, glass, ceramics, textiles, denim, leather, rubber, thin metals, wood and stone.
