Diamond OpticsElement Six has announced the Diamond PureOptics line of diamond optics.

Replacing thin films with a diamond-structured surface designed to reduce reflection losses, the optics shift reliance to the intrinsic properties of diamond. Metasurfaces offer improved reliability and high power densities for high-power CO2 laser systems.

The devices are suited for extreme-ultraviolet lithography applications, with a laser-induced damage threshold 10 times higher than antireflection-coated windows, as well as equivalent reflectance of <0.5 percent and transmission above 99 percent.
