Nu-Tek’s diamond-turning facility is staffed with highly trained machinists and engineers operating the latest in high quality equipment. Multiple machines are equipped with profilometers to allow testing while parts remain on the machine. Our machines are also set up to diamond-turn fly-cut for flat work, etc.
Engineers program the equipment to make highly complex curves and shapes. Our optical technicians can improve the process one step further by final figuring and polishing. Polishing procedures improve the surface roughness to < 20 Angtroms RMS. Dr. Bupp heads up our Diamond Turning Department while helping our staff with special programming needs. He also assists customers with design specifications.
Since Nu-Tek has been manufacturing and testing optical components from glass, metals and crystals for over 25 years, we are well equipped for the latest metrology and support of the Diamond Turning Department.
