NESS ZIONA, Israel, Jan. 25, 2021 — Diffractive Optical ElementsDLITe diffractive optical elements (DOEs) from Holo/Or Ltd. provide laser surface functionalization and texturing over large areas.

DLITe beam shapers enable large-area processing of Laser Induced Periodic Surface Structures (LIPSS) without movement. The continuously growing availability of laser power enables laser processing of progressively larger areas, while maintaining Laser Surface Texturing (LST) inherent advantages of precision, dry environment, microscale features, and geometry flexibility. Products with modified surfaces can have longer lifetimes, improved ease of cleaning, and lower friction.

The DLITe uses a single DOE with industry-standard focusing optics and has no sensitivity to centering tolerances, giving it all the advantages of direct interference laser patterning but without the need for a complex and sensitive setup.
