Raylase AG has announced the new AXIALSCAN-50HP DIGITAL deflection unit, offering large-field processing in X, Y and Z dimensions, and enabling laser-materials processing.

With feedback control, the device has large processing fields from 300 to 1200 mm in edge length and up to 600 mm in depth, CO2 laser spots as small as 168 μm in diameter, and an accurate beam positioning down to 4.6 μm.

A laser deflection speed of more than 12 m/s, acceleration within 0.9 ms and a tracking error of 0.5 ms is enabled by a double motor and lightweight silicon carbide mirrors.

The deflection units are designed for industrial applications.
