SA Photonics has developed the HRNVS high-resolution digital night-vision system, a head-mounted display with a wide field of view for use by commercial and military pilots of fixed-wing airplanes and rotorcraft. The system provides a >82.5° field of view, more than double that of most existing night-vision systems, according to the company. Other advantages include reduced peripheral obscuration, forward projection and swept volume; zero halo and digital image enhancement; recording night-vision imagery; and overlaying symbology.
