LOS GATOS, Calif., April 22, 2011 — SA Photonics has developed the HRNVS high-resolution digital night-vision system, a digital night-vision head-mounted display with a wide field of view for use by commercial and military pilots of fixed-wing airplanes and rotorcraft.

The system provides pilots with high-resolution night-vision imagery and a better than 82.5° field of view, more than double that of most existing night-vision systems, according to the company. Other advantages include reduced peripheral obscuration, reduced forward projection and swept volume, zero halo and digital image enhancement, recording night-vision imagery and overlaying symbology.
