Dilas has released the Compact Evolution, a fiber-coupled, CW diode laser system for scanner-based plastics welding, thin-metal welding, heat treatment selective soldering, brazing and scientific applications.
Designed in a compact 19-in. rack-mountable chassis with 3HU, the system is available up to 600-W CW at 976 nm with a stable beam quality of 22 mm mrad. It features a standardized diode laser control (DLC) unit for use in cross-platform strategies for all of the company’s industrial diode laser systems. The DLC provides external interfaces, including common analog/digital, BUS and a remote access option for easy analysis and parameter settings.
The device can be combined with Dilas’ processing heads, offering camera and pyrometer options, and allowing the closed-loop operation of the system in predefined welding-temperature ranges for quality-relevant applications in automotive and medical device manufacturing. An optional fiber-input galvo-scanner that features a field of operation in which the laser spot can be freely addressed is also available.
The instrument is based on proprietary water-cooled tailored-bar technology and does not require deionized water.
