Dilas Industrial Laser Systems, a division of Dilas Diodenlaser GmbH, has introduced a diode laser system based on a module with increased beam quality and an optical output power of 30 W continuous wave. The module is integrated into the company’s COMPACT fiber-coupled turnkey diode laser system. The beam parameter product of ±11 mm mrad (100-µm fiber core diameter, numerical aperture of 0.22) enables this direct diode laser system to accommodate new applications in materials processing because of the small focal diameters that can be achieved. The combination of standardized processing heads, such as fixed optics with an integrated pyrometer and CCD camera or galvo scanner heads, enables applications such as micro-plastics welding and selective microsoldering for medical device manufacturing.
