Omicron.jpgOmicron has unveiled a temperature-controlled laser diode module with more than 1000 mW at 445 nm. An addition to the Bluephoton LDM series CW lasers, it measures 19 × 9 × 5 cm. It was developed for applications such as fluorescence excitation and as a blue illumination source for spatial light modulators and digital light processing chips. The laser offers good beam quality and can be focused to a few micrometers. With its modular design, it can be equipped directly with focusing lenses, fiber couplings or customer-specified lens systems. It has a separable laser head and controlling unit and is available with optional mode-hopping-free operation.
