MILPITAS, Calif., October 24, 2014 — A new direct diode laser from JDSU provides up to 2 kW of output power for sheet metal cutting. It has been integrated into a new sheet metal cutting system from Amada called ExC.

According to JDSU, direct diode lasers provide advantages over CO2 lasers, including higher cutting speeds, improved cutting quality, increased energy efficiency and lower maintenance requirements.
