Direct optical monitoring is essential for the manufacture of demanding optical multilayer filters. As the complexity of designs increases, it is difficult to develop a stable monitor strategy. Changing the monitor glass during deposition prevents error buildup and loss of accuracy. The Leybold Optics test changer allows direct monitoring on the substrate dome on up to four separate positions and is already proven for narrowband and blocking filters.
