The 64-GBaud High-Bandwidth Coherent Driver Modulator (HB-CDM) from NeoPhotonics Corp., with its complete coherent optics suite, enables the implementation of single-channel 600-G data transmission over data center interconnect distances of approximately 80 km using 64 quadrature amplitude modulation.
The device also supports 400-G data transmission over metro distances of 400 to 600 km using 64 GBaud, 16 QAM, or 200-G over long-haul distances of >1000 km using 64-GBaud and quadrature phase shift keying. Its small form factor of 25 × 12 × 5-mm co-packages a linear, quad-channel, differential 64-GBaud driver with an indium phosphide-based Mach-Zehnder quadrature modulator chip.
The HB-CDM is compliant to the OIF-HB-CDM-01.0 implementation agreement and assures users a 3-dB electro-optical bandwidth of >40 GHz. The compact size fits in a CFP2-DCO pluggable module.
