Coherent Chameleon DiscoveryA new laser from Coherent Inc. allows simultaneous, multiwavelength excitation of multiple probes and photoactivation for nonlinear microscopy.

The Chameleon Discovery is continuously tunable from 680 to 1300 nm, with a pulse width of 100 fs and power up to 1.4 W. Its secondary output, at 1040 nm, offers 160-fs pulse widths at 1.5 W.

An internal and fully automated group velocity dispersion (GVD) pre-compensator enables the shortest possible pulse width at the sample.

Applications include optogenetics experiments, as well as stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) and coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS).
