MINNEAPOLIS, July 29, 2013 — Sick has released the Dx35 line of midrange laser distance measurement sensors for outdoor and indoor wash-down applications, as well as pallet detection, roll diameter and loop control, parcel classification and detection, and level monitoring.

Featured in a compact housing with an IP 67 enclosure rating that reduces mounting restrictions, the sensors detect fast-moving objects or objects that are difficult to detect at longer ranges up to 35 m. A special switching mode detects difficult targets such as black and highly reflective objects, which reduces the number of sensors required. A simple remote teaching method simplifies setup and enables rapid changeover.

Proprietary high-definition distance measurement (HDDM) technology is also included for precise, reliable measurements.
