Pervasive Displays has announced e-paper displays (EPDs) with Armor technology to achieve greater mechanical robustness and improved sunlight readability characteristics.

The displays are optimized for deployment in more challenging semi-outdoor environments with units capable of prolonged operation and high image quality. Armor is available for EPD size formats up to 12-in. Each Armor EPD module incorporates an optically bonded cover lens made from either polymethyl-methacrylate or tempered glass, along with a UV filtering layer. A proprietary protective sheet makes modules resistant to humidity and safeguards them from scratches.

They will be deployed for handheld equipment, public information systems and digital signage equipment, freight container labelling, shop floor conveyer systems, warehousing operations, and more.
