EMI Shielded LC Adapter

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 14, 2006 -- Tyco Electronics has developed a shielded, metal LC adapter for use in applications where EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference) are a concern.

"Our unique, one-piece diecast design enhances both the shielding effectiveness and cost of this adapter," said Paula Trindell, product manager for Tyco Electronics' fiber optic fusiness unit. Used with the included EMI gasket, our testing indicates significant improvement in shielding effectiveness."
Tyco Electronics' shielded LC adapter is available with ceramic sleeves and is RoHS compliant. A nonshielded metal adapter is offered in both screw-mount and reduced flange configurations for applications that require no additional EMI shielding. Standard plastic adapters are also available.
