Thorlabs Inc. has introduced the BP1M2 series, an extension set for the company’s BP100 series beam profiler for automated M2 analysis of beam quality. The system allows the measurement of the times-diffraction-limit M2 factor of a laser beam and its reciprocal beam quality, k = 1/M2. The extension set has a motorized translation stage and mounting accessories to be used for the company’s beam profiler. The system can measure divergence, waist diameter, Rayleigh range and astigmatism. It is compatible with CW and quasi-CW lasers and delivers short measurement times.
