Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. has unveiled the ICPE-9000 multitype induction-coupled plasma emission spectrometer for analysis of substances from metals to pharmaceuticals. Using a large-scale 1-in., 1-megapixel CCD detector, along with an echelle spectrometer, the device reduces measurement time to a few minutes, while retaining resolution. It incorporates a vacuum spectrometer, which eliminates the need for high-purity purge gas, and the Mini Torch technology, which reduces the consumption of argon gas. The instrument is equipped with the ICPEsolution software, including functions for qualitative database calibration, and method development and diagnosis.
