NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I., Aug. 5, 2010 — Hexagon Metrology Inc. has announced the immediate availability of the Endeavor 3 CMM, the next generation of its Endeavor line of vertical coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) that introduces new sizes, additional models, improved sensor support and a boost in accuracy performance compared to the previous generation.
The Endeavor 3 is designed to address a wide range of dimensional measurement requirements for the startup manufacturer purchasing his first coordinate measuring machine, to a large manufacturing operation looking for multiple CMMs with a maximum price-to-performance ratio.
The new machine is precision-manufactured at the company’s headquarters factory and is checked and certified to meet the rigorous application test procedures required by B89 and ISO standards. Offered in two models, the Endeavor 3 is suitable for touch trigger applications, while the Endeavor 3 Plus is targeted at more demanding tactile and noncontact scanning applications. The latter offers extensive sensor support including the Leitz LSP-X1 and LSP-X3 tactile scanning probes. In addition, it supports the CMM-V and CMM-Ve vision sensors, and the ScanShark noncontact laser scanning sensor.
Nine standard sizes ranging from 5.5.5 up to 12.30.10. are offered. Features include high performance, computer-aided design capability and the improved accuracy needed for the ever increasing number of high-tolerance parts. The next-generation product line combines the versatility of tactile scanning, noncontact scanning and optical imaging, while maintaining an attractive price point.
