SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., July 13, 2010 — Meggitt Sensing Systems has announced the Endevco model 2271A series, an extreme-temperature accelerometer family designed with rugged construction and precision accuracy for high-reliability vibration and acceleration measurements in cryogenic, flight test engine monitoring, highly accelerated life tests/highly accelerated stress screens/environmental stress screening, space hardware testing applications and other extreme environments.
Available with either 10-32 side connector (model 2271A) or 10-32 top connector (model 2271AM20), the Endevco model 2271A series is designed to reliably operate over a wide temperature range of -269 to 260 °C with flat temperature response. Units exhibit good output sensitivity and stability over time, and high shock survivability. The piezoelectric sensing elements are housed in a corrosion-resistant stainless steel case that is hermetically sealed for use in demanding environments.
Signal ground is isolated from the sensor’s outer case. A 3-m low-noise coaxial cable is supplied for error-free operation. As self-generating devices, the accelerometer family requires no external power source for operation. Select models are eligible for purchase under the Endevco-R replacement sensor program.
Recommended accessories for the series include the model 2950 tri-axial mounting block; signal conditioner models 133, 2775 or 4990a (Oasis); or the model 2771C in-line charge converter.
