IMSEAL-800, a high-strength epoxy resin, seals visible porosity deep below the surface in castings and other metal parts, completely and permanently filling blowholes, cracks and other defects where welding or brazing would be impractical. Available from Impco Inc., the clear multipurpose sealant is also suitable for laminating, potting and encapsulating. Without the need for reinforcing materials, it fills all interconnected passageways, producing a leak-proof seal. The sealed area is pressure-tight and can be drilled, tapped, machined and otherwise processed without worry. It is supplied in a premeasured easy-mix packet.
