Nufern Erbium/Ytterbium Doped FibersNufern has announced the release of a new line of Erbium:Ytterbium (Er:Yb) co-doped fiber products tailored to offer high performance and versatility in CATV and Lidar laser and amplifier applications.

These Er:Yb fibers are designed with Nufern’s double clad geometry to accept all 9XX nm pump wavelengths and amplify light in the 1.55 μm wavelength range with unmatched performance. The core composition has been optimized to ensure the highest efficiencies on the market while guaranteeing stable output by suppressing parasitic 1 μm ASE.

The chemistry has been finely balanced in two standard application-specific versions. The standard version is a high-efficiency and low-threshold design, ideal for single-stage amplifiers. The XP version is specifically designed for high output power levels with suppressed ASE, suited for multi-stage amplifier modules. Both versions are available in a wide range of geometries. In addition, Nufern offers a broad understanding of the design variables that allows us to customize fibers for specialized applications.
