The T80-DRV-TB evaluation board from VI Systems GmbH features a generation of single-channel laser drivers for non-return-to-zero modulation at bit data rates of up to 80 Gb/s with on-off keying enabling low-latency optical data transmission.

The test board features two electrical 1.85-mm high-frequency connectors for differential signal input. The laser driver chip is also available as bare die chip for the assembly into transmitter optical assemblies.

The driver chips are suitable for different types of directly modulated microlasers such as VCSELs or miniature distributed feedback lasers having a high modulation bandwidth. They can be applied for multimode and single-mode data transmission.
