PEABODY, Mass., Feb. 24, 2012 — International Light Technologies has expanded its integrating sphere product offerings from two to five models. They are used for measuring a wide variety of light sources from miniature halogen lamps, LEDs and small neon lamps up to larger sources such as high-power LEDs and many automotive lamps.

There are now five integrating sphere diameters available: 12, 10, 6, 4 and 2 in. All spheres have a spectral range of 225 to 1400 nm and are internally baffled to eliminate direct detector exposure and first-bounce measurements. They are supplied with a wide variety of port sizes and configurations.

The 12-in.-diameter sphere is hinged for added sample handling convenience.

Typical applications include measurement of LED intensity/beam flux, laser power, beam candela and mean spherical candle power. Coupled with the company’s ILT1700 research radiometer or ILT1400 radiometer/photometer and the appropriate detector, the integrating spheres perform direct measurement in a wide variety of optical units including candela, watts/steradian, watts, lumens, watts/cm2, lux and joules.

When an integrating sphere is used with the ILT950 spectroradiometer, the ILT950 becomes a powerful light source analysis tool for measuring spectral distribution, correlated color temperatures and color coordinates.
