KEMP, Texas, Feb. 15, 2013 — Larson Electronics LLC has announced fluorescent light fixtures that produce output in the ultraviolet. The explosion-proof EPL-48-2L-UV is approved for hazardous locations and paint spray booth use and is suitable for curing adhesives, UV-reactive paints and coatings in industrial applications, and for microbe suppression and germicidal control in the food and health fields.
Measuring 4 ft long and weighing 65 lb, they feature aluminum construction, external sealed ballast, and heat- and impact-resistant Pyrex tubes to protect the fluorescent bulbs. They are available in output wavelengths of 400 to 315 nm, 315 to 280 nm, and 280 to 100 nm. They are approved for Class 1 Division 1, Class 1 Division 2, and Class 2 Division 1 and 2 locations, and for outdoor marine environments.
Mounting options include standard adjustable end brackets and optional pendant mounts to allow better clearance between the fixture and the mounting surface. The lights operate from a standard 12- to 277-VAC supply, allowing use with most voltages encountered within industrial and commercial settings, without the need for transformers.
