Eye-analogue sensor
Osram Opto Semiconductors Inc.Request Info
The SFH 5711 ambient light sensor from Osram Opto
Semiconductors Inc. precisely matches the sensitivity curve of the human eye, making
it suitable for applications where automatic changes in display brightness are desired.
According to the company, the 2.2 x 2.8 x 1.1-mm device can prevent the rapid onset
of eyestrain, make small mobile devices easier to read in all lighting conditions
and reduce energy requirements, thus saving battery power. The sensor exhibits maximum
sensitivity at 560 nm, operates with a supply voltage of 2.3 to 5 V and responds
to a brightness of 3 to 30,000 lx.
