CHESHAM, England, April 27, 2010 — A ruggedized F-mount periscope has been supplied from Resolve Optics Ltd. to Specialised Imaging Ltd. to provide real-time focusing of any prime lens on the latter company’s SIR3 high-speed ballistic range camera.

The rugged, lockable F-mount focusing system for the SIR3 incorporates a manual iris adjustment to enable the use of any prime lens, including the DSLR lenses that have no manual iris control.

A micro switch, activated by the mirror slide, was incorporated into the design to ensure that the camera cannot be used while the mirror is in the focusing position.
