BaySpec.jpgFor fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor system measurements, BaySpec Inc. has announced its WaveCapture FBGA interrogation analyzer, an integrated spectral engine that covers multiple wavelengths simultaneously. It covers the C and L bands and employs a volume phase grating as the spectral dispersion element and an ultrasensitive InGaAs array as the detection element. Response time for raw data is <5 ms, minimum scanning frequency is 0.2 kHz and the dynamic range is 60 dB. The athermal design enables battery-operated portable operation. Wavelength range is from 1525 to 1565 ±30 pm. Display spectral resolution is ±1 pm, and power resolution is 0.1 dB. Software is included, and interfaces are USB, RS-232 or dual-port RAM.
