The output power of Alfalight Inc.'s 976-nm fiber-coupled diode lasers has been increased by 33%. The AM4-976-10-203 thermoelectrically cooled laser, housed in a 14-pin package, produces 2 W and has a 25-year mean time to failure. The AM6-976-10-403 uncooled, 6-pin model has an output of 4 W. The diode lasers are suitable for pumping telecommunications amplifiers and fiber and solid-state lasers.
