NP Photonics' Scorpion SMPF-2030 erbium microfiber laser module produces 100 mW and operates in the C-band from 1530 to 1560 nm. This device measures 168 x 70 x 19 mm and has a linewidth <3 kHz. Other specifications include relative intensity noise of ¾140 dB/Hz at 2 MHz, coherence length of >50 km and mode stability of ±30 MHz/h. It is suitable for fiber optic sensing applications such as remote sensing, spectroscopy, lidar, and test and measurement. The device features a Telcordia-qualified pump laser and built-in control electronics.
