FIBER LASER Lumics GmbH has introduced the LU0546M005, a miniature green laser module that outputs up to 5 mW at 546 nm from a single-mode fiber at 1-W consumption, typical. Optical stability is <2%, beam quality is M2 1.1, and spectral linewidth is <1 nm. Housed in a standardized cooled 14-pin butterfly package with an encapsulated fiber, the system measures 30 × 15 mm, with a maximum height of 8 mm. The fiber is 0.5 m long and terminated with a collimator and filter. Maximum operating current is 350 mA, and forward voltage is 1.7 V, maximum. Typical threshold current is 240 mA. The thermoelectrically cooled system is suitable for analytical, medical and imaging applications.
