ILX Lightwave has extended the capability of its line of precision fiber optic source modules. The 79800B series is a family of DFB and Fabry-Perot fiber optic source modules offering high stability at standard and user-specified wavelengths. When used in the 7900 system mainframe, the modules provide a standard coherence control feature to suppress interference effects caused by reflections and Brillouin scattering when narrow-linewidth sources are used.
